Manor Renewable Energy Celebrates 10 Years Of Business
Manor Renewable Energy (MRE) was founded by Eric Briar and Toby Mead in 2013 and is celebrating 10 years of business this year; in that time, the company has gone from strength to strength as they have established themselves as an industry leading wind farm service provider.

Initially focusing on temporary power solutions for the offshore wind industry, throughout their years of business MRE has expanded their core service offering to include engineering and vessel solutions following the purchase of their Dorset based shipyard, Manor Marine.
The acquisition of Manor Marine followed the launch of the Manor Venture, MRE’s flagship vessel and the first in their fleet, constructed at the shipyard; the Venture marked a significant milestone for the company.
Aberdeen-based global energy solution company OEG Group (OEG) acquired MRE in early 2022 to expand its renewables capability; since the acquisition MRE has expanded its operations to the US with the award of several temporary power work scopes.
Eric commented:
We founded MRE with a goal of providing turnkey, cost effective solutions for the industry. We have always focused on being a service business that is facilitated by well-maintained, quality assets and that combination of the right personnel with the right tools allowed us to become the number one provider of temporary power in the Offshore Wind sector. We continue to grow and are very proud of our people and what they have achieved for the business.
Toby added:
The key drivers for us throughout the last 10 years has been to continuously improve the delivery of our services, to do what we say we will do and then take the lessons learnt into the next projects and to ensure we are continually moving forward and improving year on year; we have always strived for that and it remains to be the ethos that underpins the business.
In their journey to become an industry leading service supplier, MRE has worked with the majority of OEMs, key wind farm developers and operators across 45 wind farm projects globally.
After the acquisition of German-based OPUS Marine, MRE has sixteen owned specialist offshore support vessels across the UK, Europe and Taiwan; plans for additional vessels are underway, whilst it is also working with industry partners on autonomous vessels.
With the launch of OEG Renewables, the group’s new renewable energy services division, in June 2023 came a new challenge for both Eric Briar and Toby Mead, as they became Managing Director and Operations Director respectively; this move saw the duo step away from their leadership roles at MRE as they focus on the development of OEG Renewables.
