OEG Energy Group, a leading offshore solutions business, is pleased to announce that OEG Renewable Energy Inc has signed a multi-year framework agreement with Ørsted for their Northeastern US offshore wind projects. The multi-year agreement gives OEGR’s topside division exclusivity for all temporary power scopes Ørsted have during commissioning on their projects.
This agreement has begun immediately with the provision of temporary power scope to the offshore South Fork Wind project operated by Ørsted and Eversource, with OEGR providing 8 portable generator sets with technician support. Temporary power generators provide critical power to the turbine during commissioning activities prior to a grid connection and during operations and maintenance (O&M) downtime. OEG Renewables highly experienced on and offshore teams ensure the design and installation of the temporary power solutions are to the highest safety and operational standards.
The 132MW South Fork Wind’s project delivers power to New York’s Long Island. In addition, Ørsted and Eversource are developing the 704MW Revolution Wind project which will provide clean power to Rhode Island and Connecticut.
Highlights:
- This multi-year framework agreement marks a strengthening of OEG Renewables presence in the US offshore wind market providing critical services to leading wind farm developers on current and future projects.
- Both the federal and individual state governments have set ambitious renewable energy targets with New York and Connecticut targeting 100% renewables by 2040, and in Rhode Island by 2030.
- OEG Renewables has established itself as the most experienced global provider of specialist subsea, topside, and marine services for offshore wind projects, with the capability to deploy specialist personnel around the world while being committed to investing in strong local teams to ensure long-term value for our regional stakeholders.
