I joined MRE in 2021 as a Project Coordinator with a background in the marine industry, with my university studies focused on renewables and offshore wind. My initial challenge was working on the delivery of temporary power for Hornsea TWO offshore wind farm, from which I then stepped up to a Project Management role where I successfully managed the delivery of temporary power during the construction of St Nazaire offshore wind farm. I have since continued to manage the delivery of MRE’s temporary power projects and have expanded my involvement into OEGR temporary power delivery in the USA. Working now as a Senior Project Manager I have a strong involvement in project delivery as well as involvement at the early tender and contract stages, and have been working to build and develop MRE’s project management team.
My career within MRE has given me many an opportunity which have offered me the chance to progress my career and take on exciting challenges. My role incorporates a lot of both UK and international travel.

I began my career with Hughes Subsea in May 2023, assuming the role of Lead Project Engineer. What drew me to this dynamic team was the diverse range of projects spanning various disciplines such as diving, wind farm construction, and marine civil engineering.
My first project with Hughes was a diving project, involving the replacement of several mooring chains on an FPSO and inspection work in the North Sea. Despite being a newcomer to diving projects, I embraced the challenge and found myself learning a lot.
Following the successful completion of the diving project, I was asked if I would like to consider a new role within the company as a Project Manager. Embracing this opportunity, I moved into the role of Assistant Project Manager for my next project - UXO Identification and Clearance campaign.
In my day-to-day responsibilities, I engage with offshore teams on project progress, risks, and schedule, alongside communicating with other project stakeholders. I also coordinate with engineers and cost controllers to ascertain equipment requirements and project finances.
The organisation has been excellent with training and personal development requirements which has made me feel like a valued member of the team. As the company continues to grow and win larger projects, I feel like I’m in a very good position to continue to develop my career and further learning.

With a background in mining engineering, I was always interested in the operational side of energy resources, especially in oil & gas and wind energy. I started working at Bluestream in 2022, and I was sure this company was the perfect match for me. In this fast-paced world, it’s a real privilege to work at Bluestream and gather new knowledge about the industry.
As a Junior Project Engineer, I’m responsible for preparing operational documentation before projects get started, as well as planning and coordinating the mobilisation and execution of the work itself. My goal is to implement project-specific procedures and technical specifications, and to communicate with our clients and sub-contractors as effectively as possible. My projects are always dynamic. Every day feels like a new adventure!

I joined Fern Communications in 2018 employed as a Test Engineer and was responsible for testing all the company’s communication equipment prior to and after any hire period or project deployment. Prior to joining Fern Communications, I spent 12 years in the British Army’s Royal Corps of Signals learning and using various communications systems both in the UK and abroad.
I progressed to assisting with installing radio equipment onto vessels both on and offshore for various offshore wind projects, alongside learning more about the how the process of the hire side of the company works.
In 2023 I was promoted to Hire Manager when the company opened a new office in Aberdeen. I have since be ensuring the smooth operation of our hire business to ensure the best quality of service to our customers as well as helping maintain our offshore wind projects here in Scotland.

I began my career with Specialist Marine Consultants (SMC) as a PPE and Logistics Coordinator, progressing to PPE and Logistics Manager. I then was offered the HR Administrator role which is my current position with the company.
My day to day role is to look after the employee life cycle of all the employees at SMC, making sure their health and wellbeing is prioritised and in check. My other responsibilities include looking after all of the contractors for SMC, maintaining their contracts and making sure they have IR35.
I’m currently studying for my CIPD level 5 as part of my continuous professional development with SMC, and I hope to become HR Manager in the future.
The best thing about working for SMC and OEG Renewables is the opportunities for career development and learning within the renewables industry. Alongside this, all my colleagues are great to communicate with, everyone is really friendly and it’s an amazing company to work for.

SENIOR HYDROGRAPHIC SURVEYOR
Meet Osita Anaeto
I began my career in the survey industry with a local company back in Nigeria, graduating in November 2023 with a master’s degree in Land and Hydrographic and Surveying from the University of Glasgow. I joined the GEOSIGHT team in January 2024 as a Hydrographic Surveyor and I’ve had an amazing time with the company so far.
As a Hydrographic Surveyor I use a range of specialised software and equipment including satellite positioning systems, sonars, single and multibeam echosounders to measure and monitor underwater surfaces.
I have had the opportunity to lead a project on one of our chartered vessels, the Baltic Surveyor, which was a milestone for me this year. I have also been working on honing my skills, not only in the field of survey but also my leadership and project management skills, to further strengthen my ability to effectively contribute to achieving the goals and aspirations of GEOSIGHT.
The renewables and survey industries are a world of limitless opportunities and are ever changing and growing, with new innovations and cutting edge technologies. Every day comes with its new challenges and opportunities to improve your knowledge.
The best thing about working for GEOSIGHT and OEG Renewables as a Hydrographic Surveyor is the ability to see my profession in a different perspective. Having to work with new software and equipment for the marine environment has given me the opportunity to see my role differently and learn as I progress my career.
