Providing comprehensive expertise in the planning, design and construction of subsea cable systems
Cable route engineering
At OEG Renewables, our route engineers can call on over 25 years of experience in the successful design, planning, survey and installation of subsea cables. This expertise has been gained on a variety of projects in the offshore energy sector, from small cables projects, through to large transoceanic and multi country network systems.
Cable route studies
We provide a valuable desk top resource for the planning and route selection of submarine cable systems. Information is obtained from a variety of in-house and commercially available databases, academic papers and industry guidelines. Data includes seabed bathymetry, seafloor sediment mapping, meteorology, ocean currents and tides and fishing, shipping and the activities of other seabed users.
We also undertake site visits to investigate suitable beach landings, location of terrestrial infrastructure and the proximity of existing cable landing stations and facilitates meetings with regulatory, environmental and commercial interests.
Risk management and GAP analysis
We are leading industry experts in subsea cables, supplying a comprehensive risk management approach to cable projects at all stages of the life cycle. This risk management of subsea cable engineering encompasses a technical and commercial review of the project as a means of classifying how well a product, dataset or solution meets the needs of the project.
The GAP Analysis is used to highlight areas of deficiency or omission, where additional information would provide a better end product. We rely on our broad knowledge base and the practical expertise of our specialist consultants to identify where design, manufacturing, survey and installation can be improved to the benefit of the project.
